Why play for Post 22?
Post 22 has a long standing tradition of excellence in American Legion Baseball.
We are also one of the very few programs where DO NOT pay to play. While the cost to play for each player is between $5,000 and $6,000, a fundraising system is in place to raise those funds. Each family is asked to sell passes, sponsorships, and participate in other fundraisers. Our families also do volunteer shifts during the season. The system is simple, those that raise more money, work less shifts. It is a system that has worked for Post 22 for over half a century and ensures that regardless of income, anyone that wants to play at Post 22, can.
The Post 22 coaching staff is the highest quality coaching staff in the state of South Dakota, sporting 21 years of professional baseball experience and over 30 years of combined collegiate experience.
If you want to play past high school, these coaches know how to make it happen, because they have been there.
We have over 210 college players at 97 different colleges and universities as well 23 players who have played professionally.
Our stadium underwent a total makeover in 2021 thanks to funds from the Rapid City vision fund. A field of full turf ensures very few games are cancelled and ability to play or practice on the field year round. We have a large indoor facility and out door batting sheds.
